The 411: Santa Barbara Film Festival

January 29, 2014

Santa Barbara is sometimes referred to as a place for the “newly wed and nearly dead”, but we say forget that. We see it as more of a dynamic and enchanting locale that often surprises with its ever-burgeoning sense of culture and style. During the period of January 30th through February 9th, our little town will be hosting the annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. This eleven day celebration of cinema offers a diverse array of more than 200 films to an audience of over 75,000 film enthusiasts. Not only do we Santa Barbarans get a chance to see some of the worlds most recognizable directors, producers, actors and screenwriters in the flesh, but we’re given a chance to put away those Lulus for a week and pull out the pieces usually reserved for city life. So dust off those garment bags and show Santa Barbara how it’s done. In case you don’t remember how to go from sporty to chic, have a gander at some of the looks we’ve pulled together below for inspiration! All three looks available at Julianne.

Featured Designer – N 21

January 22, 2014

We are excited to announce the addition of N21 for Resort2013.  Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s most recent fashion venture, named after his birthday and lucky number, conveys his love of a feminine, sensual woman paired down with a more casual daywear feel. Floral prints, exquisite lace details, and muted colors are quintessential to his brand, thus creating a casual and relaxed style for the modern woman. Dell’Acqua was inspired by such women as Alexa Chung, Kate Moss, Franca Sozzani, and Cate Blanchett, whose styles represent the sort of informal grace one doesn’t strive for, but rather exhibits. This can best be described by the mantra, “fashionista, but not fashion victim”. Below are a few looks from the collection as a preview of what we currently have in our Montecito and New York locations. The pieces are stunning, easy to wear, and naturally speak for themselves. They’re absolutely worth seeing in person if you have the time to stop by. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or requests!

Pre-Fall 2014 Roundup

Each season we face budding anticipation as the unveiling of new collections grows nearer. We eagerly await the day we can get our hands on new pieces and have a closer look at what we hope to one day own. This season, our buyers are ecstatic as they’ve decided to pick up a few new and noteworthy designers for Resort 2014, including: N21, Nina Ricci, J. Mendel and Monique Lhuillier. For Fall 2014, we’re happy to announce that Cushnie Et Ochs will be on the roster. Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs share a unique and progressive perspective of the female form, as they take the body-con dress to a whole new level; one that is decidedly feminine, understated and luxuriously modern. If you’re looking for a dress this fall that embodies sophistication and sexual mystique, this designer may be for you. Take a peak below for a preview of the pieces that we felt our clients just couldn’t live without from Carolina Herrera, Thom Browne, Erdem and Lanvin.
