Spring/Summer 2015 Trend Report
October 17, 2014
This season, we’re pointing out four trends that have followed us through market.
The first and most prominent would be the ‘70s theme throughout the runways. From disco fever at Saint Laurent to boho chic at Dries Van Noten, we’re getting a healthy dose of flower power. Not to mention Thom Browne: those outrageous floral details cannot be ignored!

Slouchy looks are also apparent on many of the runways. We feel that Haider Ackermann mastered the effortless look by way of long soft trenches and over-sized pieces tied tight at the waist with a belt. These dramatic, fuss-free looks will surely make you think twice when considering that structured dress. Forget alterations when you adopt this look for spring.
Every season has a print that’s quintessential with respect to their time of year. For sprig it’s the charming gingham. Although this picnic appropriate garb usually portrays a classic and safe look, these designers had ulterior motives. Thom Browne mixes colors and overlays floral appliqués—creating something much more complex and interesting. Alternatively, Altuzarra adds a plunging neckline and high silt to give some sexuality to an otherwise quaint look.

Last, but certainly not least, I bring you…feathers and fringe! We at Julianne can never resist a good feather or fringe piece, and like we always say, the more the better!

The Indian summer is in full effect—leaving us reluctant to ponder fall clothing, let alone try it on. Leather leggings, coats and sweaters are about the last thing on my purchase list until the weather cools. So rather than considering the clothing we can’t wear yet, I’ve opted to divert my attention to shoes and accessories—as we can always break out those new fall shoes irregardless of the heat. Check out some of our favorite accessories to curb your appetite while we slowly transition into fall!
Saint Laurent studded heel // Belstaff studded belt
Saint Laurent Sac de Jour // Taher Chemirik necklace
Saint Lauret python heel // Maison Rabih Kayrouz belt
Fortuny jewelry box // Taher Chemirik pendant necklaces
Darcy Miro oxidized metal cuff // Federica Rettore ebony cuff // Lucifer aqua bracelet
In store now: Fall – Erdem, Dries and Mary Katrantzou
July 25, 2014
Fall has a way of creeping into our lives when we least expect it—riding on the heatwave induced coattails of Summer. The last thing you want to think about is wool pants, sweaters, and shearling coats. Although it’s hard to imagine these things while the sun beats on us so, I always manage to find excitement for the incoming season. Thoughts of cozying up beside a crackling fire with chunky sweaters and leather leggings have me feeling that inevitable nostalgia once again. The desire to pick up the newest trends and new pieces grows strong with such feelings.
The other upside to Fall is layering. So many pieces to consider and incorporate into your outfit: riding boots, booties, leathers, coats, furs, and much more. This season we are channeling a bit of Twiggy’s style with these 60’s and 70’s inspired looks…focusing on the layering of collared shirts and high necked dresses.

It’s that time again, and our team is back at work in New York and Paris scouring the Resort 2015 collections in search of what’s new. As always, we love to give you a glimpse into the trends that we’ll be sporting a year from now. Despite catching early traces of these trends throughout the Fall 2014 collections, we’re now seeing them full force for Spring 2015. Tea-length dresses, full skirts, and wide-leg pants: this look conveys a timeless sensuality that purges the notion that “sexiness” is defined by how much skin one shows. Take a gander at a few of our favorite looks from Resort 2014 and get ahead of the game!
