Alber Elbaz Leaving Lanvin

October 29, 2015

Yesterday we were saddened to learn Alber Elbaz will be leaving his job as Creative Director of Lanvin. Elbaz has held his position since 2001 and is often credited with single-handedly reviving the brand.

He regularly denied any desire to leave and even told the Financial Times in 2011, “How could I do that? The people who work there enable me to do what I do. They are my orchestra.” According to The New York Times it seems the decision to depart was not his own, noting that his resignation statement “suggests disagreement between himself and his corporate colleagues.”

Lanvin is a beloved brand here at Julianne and we are sorry to see Mr. Elbaz go. We wish him the best and know he’ll succeed wherever he heads next! If you would like to own a piece of Mr. Elbaz’s legacy you can shop his final Fall and Spring collections in store or through our Farfetch boutique.

Kim Kardashian’s Haider Ackermann Trench

October 27, 2015

Kim Kardashian loves her Haider Ackermann sheer trench. Kim has worn this flattering, versatile piece multiple times.

When a woman like Kim Kardashian re-wears an outfit you know it’s good. Kim has become known for her crazy-amazing collection of coats, but one in particular seems to be getting a lot of play: Her Haider Ackermann sheer, grey trench. Lately she’s been throwing it over sleek, curve-hugging dresses and finishing the look with pumps. While that’s one way to style this piece we can also imagine it paired with low-key options like jeans or leather leggings.

You can shop Kim’s look at Julianne, or shoot us an email at info@julianneny.com for details!

Coming to Julianne: Rosetta Getty

October 22, 2015

There is nothing like falling in love with a new line. It doesn’t happen often — but when it does we fall hard. Case in point: Rosetta Getty’s namesake brand. We scooped up the best of the best from her Spring line and will be bringing it to Montecito just for you.

Getty is known for her use of fine fabrics such as Japanese twill, stretch-cady and cotton-poplin. With a focus on modern, uncomplicated separates she aims to create clothes that transition from season to season and day to night. We think you’ll love Getty’s line as much as we do, so scroll down to see what we’ll be receiving for Spring 2016!

Four New Ways to Wear a Belt

October 20, 2015

Belted Statement Coats

1) With a statement coat. Define your waist while still wearing a voluminous shaped coat.

Olivia Palermo wears a belted blazer with a crystal embellished blazer.

2) Over a blazer. Take a cue from Olivia Palermo and add a touch of femininity to a boyish blazer with an embellished belt.

Belted Dresses

3) With any kind of dress. Long, short, flowing or fitted — there are no rules when it comes to belting a dress these days.

4) Over a scarf. Create a unique layered look and keep your scarf in place by throwing a belt over it.
